"For your eyes only"

Films: Opera (1987)

Alias: None

Type: Natural

Location: Civilized area

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: If you thought that opera-loving phantom was the worst thing to find sabotaging the stage, wait till you see this freak! Indeed, this might be the nastiest Giallo villain we've ever seen.

History: Alan Santini would kill for the woman he loved. And even better, that woman had a bit of a laundry list of people she hated. Unfortunately, her increasing demand for better displays of murder pushed him to kill her in the end. Alan retired from murdering for a bit...until that woman's daughter Betty came on the scene as Lady Macbeth in an opera. Seeing her as his old flame's reincarnation, he sought out to torture her and force her to watch as he murdered everyone she knew...with needles to the eyelids. Awful, awful man...

Notable Kills: Can't get to the memento of yours that your stab victim swallowed? Just tear her throat up so you can get it.

Final Fate: After some amok ravens expose his identity by pecking his eye out, Alan fakes his death by burning the room he's in. He reappears to seize Betty elsewhere, but gets bashed in the head with a rock before the authorities close in. Serves him right.

Powers/Abilities: None

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 4-It wouldn't be a Giallo film if it weren't for the sheer bloodshed on display. But dammit, this is just awful to watch! Imagine if that one scene from "A Clockwork Orange" was cranked up from "unsettling" to "trauma-inducing", and you will see why we cannot bear to be around this man.

Trivia: -This film was the most commercially successful of Dario Argento, one of the most popular Giallo filmmakers.

-In the English dub for this film, the voice of Santini's actor, Urbano Barberini, was replaced by a voice over with a deeper tone.

This will not end well.
I...I don't want to look.
This is too much to bear!
God, please, let's just move on.
